Jay Subyakto Assures Rain Does Not Affect the Continuity of Forestry 2026

JAKARTA - The music event that combines a presentation of orchestral music with the landscape of a pine protected forest area, Forestra, is back for the fifth edition.

Together with Erwin Gutawa Orchestra, Forestra 2026 will be held at Orchid Forest Cikole, Bandung, on August 29.

Later, the orchestra led by Erwin Gutawa will accompany Mahalini, Hindia, Feast, Iwa K, /rif, Naykilla, and Senyawa. In addition, there will be solo performances from Sukses Lancar Rejeki, Naykilla & Jemsii, and Aldy Amis.

Considering that this event was held in the open air, Jay Subyakto as the Show Director said, one of the challenges that must be faced is the rain that fell during the concert.

Jay revealed that last year's Forestra event was hit by rain, which ultimately had to affect the smooth running of the event. For this year's event, he ensured that the rain would not affect the smooth running of the event.

"From last year's experience, there was rain. This year, I have designed it, even if it rains, the musicians can still play," said Jay at a press conference in SCBD, South Jakarta, on Friday, July 31.

But providing a roof for performers is not enough. Jay said, there are aesthetic-related issues, where the pine forest landscape cannot be blocked from the audience's view.

"The problem is how to make it use a roof but not ugly. So I don't want it to be closed suddenly. It's weird to make it outside (the room) but it's closed. But finally the solution has been found," said Jay.

In addition to a special design to anticipate the arrival of rain, Jay also mentioned special concepts that were presented for performers on stage.

"Then there are also special numbers that I made. Like Sal Priadi's performance last year, so now I've made something special for Hindia and Mahalini," said Jay.

The frontman of Feast, Baskara Putra, expressed his enthusiasm to welcome his first appearance at Forestra. He and his colleagues admitted that they couldn't wait to hear the results of his collaboration with the orchestra led by Erwin Gutawa.

"We feel very lucky to be invited to this show," said Baskara.

Meanwhile, Andi/rif, who has known Erwin Gutawa and Jay Subyakto, who play the role of Show Director, is also looking forward to the results of the collaboration on stage.

"I've worked with Mas Erwin and Mas Jay since the 2000s. But for now I'm very interested because I'll be performing with the full band /rif. I and my friends will feel amazing," said Andy.
