JAKARTA - Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Sergei Gennadievich Tolchenov praised the relationship between the two countries, while congratulating the 79th Birthday of the Republic of Indonesia, Saturday.

"On behalf of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Indonesia and on behalf of myself, I would like to express my sincere congratulations on the commemoration of Indonesia's 79th Independence Day," said Ambassador Tolchenov in a video message on the embassy's official Telegram channel, Saturday, August 17.

Praise the relations between the two countries, Ambassador Tolchenov hopes that the cooperation can be increased to be more productive in various fields.

"The relationship between Russia and Indonesia is traditionally friendly and constructive. I believe that through joint efforts, we can ensure more productive bilateral cooperation in various fields and partnerships in international affairs," he said.

Last week, Ambassador Tolchenov along with nine other ambassadors of friendly countries handed over credentials to President Joko Widodo at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

"Hopefully the future will bring happiness and prosperity to all Indonesian citizens and strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between the people of the two countries," hoped Ambassador Tolchenov.
