Jambi Police Reveals 4.5 Kg Of International Network Methamphetamine

The Jambi Police's Narcotics Directorate revealed a case of smuggling international methamphetamine with 4.5 kilograms of evidence.

Director of Narcotics Investigation at the Jambi Police, AKBP80 Seiser, said that personnel from the Narcotics Director arrested two perpetrators of smuggling international narcotics networks, where the perpetrators used the Malaysian operator's phone number.

The two perpetrators, the initials MI (24) are students in Aceh and AJ (28) are entrepreneurs. From their hands, 4.5 kg of crystal methamphetamine was confiscated.

"Information from members, there was illicit drug trafficking where this item passed Jambi to be sent to Palembang, South Sumatra. Then while traveling in Sarolangun using a mini bus," he said.

tipanya mengatakan aksi pelaku ini merupakan yang kedua kalinya. Sebelumnya, mereka berhasil mengirim sabu sebanyak 5 kg ke Palembang. Pengiriman itu terjadi sekitar Desember 2023 dengan pembayaran yang diterima yakni Rp100 juta.

Dari keterangan pelaku, lanjuttipnya, mereka akan mendapatkan uang sebesar Rp100 juta jika berhasil mengirimkan sabu-sabu ini ke Palembang untuk kedua kalinya.

The perpetrator with the initials MI is the perpetrator who is suspected of being in direct contact with foreign parties. Meanwhile, AJ played a role in helping deliver goods to Palembang.

"The one who plays a role here is MI, where he directly relates to what we expect from abroad, whose AJ he only plays a role in helping deliver this item to Palembang," he said.

The two suspects are subject to law number 3 of 2009 concerning illicit drug trafficking, a sentence of 20 years, life imprisonment or a maximum sentence of death.

He said from this disclosure, the police managed to save 22,441 people assuming that 1 gram of crystal methamphetamine was used by five people.

If converted, the value of 4.5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine reaches Rp. 6 billion, assuming one gram of crystal methamphetamine is worth Rp. 1.3 million.

"If this goes to the public and becomes a drug addict, then the state can pay a fee. If in PP 25 of 2011 it is clear, one person is a subsidy for addicts for rehabilitation costs of Rp. 4.5 million per month," saidtipel.
