JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi said the General Elections Commission (KPU) has the authority to examine allegations of profiteering of population identification numbers (NIK) by individual candidates in the Jakarta Pilkada

"Later, the KPU can check," said the Minister of Communication and Information at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, August 16, which was confiscated by Antara.

Budi Arie also responded to the KPU which passed individual candidates in the Jakarta Pilkada.

"Anyway, as long as there is an election law that applies, yes, go ahead," he said.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta KPU, Thursday, August 15, stated that the candidate pair for governor and deputy governor of the independent route, Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana Abyoto, would be eligible to run in the Jakarta Pilkada.

"Dharma Pongrekun and Kun Wardana meet the requirements as candidates for a candidate for governor and deputy governor in the upcoming November 27 regional elections," said Chairman of the DKI Jakarta KPU Wahyu Dinata at the DKI Jakarta KPU Office, Thursday, August 15.
