Following NasDem, PPP Joins The Advanced Indonesia Coalition

JAKARTA - Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto said the United Development Party (PPP) conveyed its decision to join the Forward Indonesia Coalition as well as support future governments.

Prabowo conveyed this after receiving a visit from the Acting Chairperson of the United Development Party (PPP) DPP Muhammad Mardiono to his residence on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta, Thursday, August 15.

"Just now I received the arrival of Mr. Mardiono, my old friend, and he conveyed PPP's decision to join us in our coalition. Supporting the government that God willing, I will lead next October," Prabowo said as quoted by ANTARA.

Prabowo welcomed the PPP decision. "I express my gratitude, my joy, on behalf of our coalition friends," he said.

Prabowo said that in his leadership he would prioritize collaboration, cooperation, and the unity of all elements of Indonesian stakeholders. The cooperation is for the benefit of the nation and the people.

"I think the point is that and we feel that this cooperation has enormous benefits, and it has been seen in many regions. We have synergized, I think so," added Prabowo.

Meanwhile, Plt Ketum PPP Mardiono said his party's decision to join the Prabowo coalition was complete because the 2024 presidential election process had been completed.

Previously, PPP did not support the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair in the 2024 Presidential Election.

"But because of that (the presidential election) we have done, it has been completed, there has been a decision, so PPP has no other reason to support the Elected President Mr. Prabowo in order to carry out all the work programs that the Indonesian people have been waiting for today, to how to accelerate the welfare of the Indonesian people," he said.

Mardiono emphasized that PPP is committed to supporting the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government. In addition, PPP is also committed to collaborating with the Gerindra Party in the 2024 Pilkada.

"We have committed to the Gerindra Party, namely to cooperate in regional elections, both at the provincial and district/city levels, and this has been running since the pilkada nomination process was carried out. It's already running. So, there are still a few more places," said Mardiono.
