JAKARTA - The Cianjur Regency Government (Pemkab) has issued a budget of Rp. 200 million to repair the Cianjur Creative Center (CCC) Building which was damaged by the impact of the earthquake. Improvements are made so that young people and creative economy actors can use it to develop creativity.

Head of the Cianjur Cepi Housing and Defense Office, Rahmat Fadiana, said that he had reviewed the building built by the West Java Provincial Government and its management was handed over to the Cianjur Regency Government, where many walls were cracked.

"We have seen many walls cracked due to the earthquake, so it is prone to activities when used, so that they can function properly and safely, a repair fee of around Rp 200 million is needed," he said in Cianjur Thursday, August 15, which was confiscated by Antara.

Funds for repairing the building are included in the revised Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) in 2024, so that repairs can be carried out next month with a target of completion in a short time.

Meanwhile, regarding the existence of the building, he said, after the handover of assistance for the construction of the CCC Building from the West Java Provincial Government to the Cianjur Regency Government, activities had not been carried out due to mild damage after the earthquake rocked Cianjur in November 2022.

"Before the earthquake was handed over, but there was no activity to rush the earthquake, so the building suffered minor damage where there were cracks on a number of 3rd-story building walls," he said.

He hopes that after receiving repairs, the CCC building can function according to its designation so that youth activities and creative business actors can run smoothly and safely.

"We are targeting that in one month it will be completed, if not, the budget will be adjusted again," said Cepi.

While monitoring in the field, the CCC building, located in the city center of Cianjur, had seemed neglected for the past year, there were no activities outside or inside the building because the management was worried about the amount of damage, especially on the walls of the building.

The construction of the building is an effort by the West Java Provincial Government in order to encourage young people and creative economy actors to develop creativity with the construction of several Creative Center Buildings that are established in several cities/districts including Cianjur.
