After Being Extinguished, South Jakarta Firefighters Make Sure There Is No More Potential For Fire Implementation In Manggarai Residents' Houses

JAKARTA - The fire in Manggarai, Tebet, South Jakarta was actually declared extinguished by officers at 18.40 WIB. For more than 12 hours, starting at 02.44 WIB until 18.40 WIB, officers struggled with fire as well as cooling to ensure there was no more potential for lighting.

"The fire was declared to have been completed at around 18.40 WIB, where the fire was reported at around 02.30 WIB, starting the blackout at around 02.44 WIB, and the cooling process at 06.57 WIB," said South Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Officer Triyanto when told reporters, Tuesday, August 13.

In the fire, there were thousands of heads of families from an area of 3.7 hectares, who were affected. 7 of them suffered minor injuries.

Regarding the cause of the fire, said Triyanto, because the cellphone charger was from one of the residents' houses. The cellphone charger is said to have exploded and caused a fire and then grew.

"Mrs. Sani tried to extinguish it independently but the fire grew very quickly. Then residents broke into Sani's house to extinguish the fire. But the fire could not be extinguished and residents immediately reported it to the Manggarai post," he said.

A total of 123 personnel and 36 fire engines were deployed. As a result, the fire was successfully extinguished until 18.40 WIB.
