Police Exhumation Of The Body Of A Woman In Bandung Victim Of Her Husband's Murder

BANDUNG - Bandung City Police, West Java, conducted an exhumation or dug a grave to remove the body of a woman with the initials INS (24), a victim of a case of abuse and murder by her own husband.

Bandung Police Chief Kombes Kusworo Wibowo said the INS victim was known to have been missing since seven months ago and is suspected of being buried since January 2024.

"This morning we carried out an exhumation, we immediately took the body for an autopsy by the medical team," said Kusworo, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, August 2.

Kusworo explained that the implementation of the exhumation was carried out by the Indonesian Automatic Fingerprint Identification System Team. (Inafis) Bandung Police, accompanied by the West Java Police for Medicine and Health.

The police chief said that the INS family had lost contact with the victim since January 13, 2024, until they received news that the victim died because he was killed by the main suspect with the initials A (23) and found out that the victim was buried in Ciburial Village, Pacet, Bandung Regency.

"On July 28, 2024, the victim's family received information from residents who said that the victim had been killed by her husband, namely suspect A," he said.

After the victim's family found out that INS had been killed by the perpetrator, the family then reported it to the Bandung Police on July 30, 2024 and an investigation was carried out immediately.

"We were able to arrest four perpetrators on July 31, 2024, one day after the victim's family reported this incident," said the Police Chief.

From the investigation, the police arrested all four perpetrators.

The victim was killed by the main suspect with the initials A along with three other suspects who were friends of the perpetrator using a machete.

"The three suspects in his house helped suspect A by holding hands, feet and silencing the victim when the suspect slit the victim with a machete," he said.

The perpetrators were charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code concerning premeditated murder and Article 170 of the Criminal Code concerning persecution with the threat of a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
