Gerindra-PSI Cecar DKI Provincial Government Regarding Mandeknya Rehab School Building Damaged

The Gerindra and PSI factions of the DKI Jakarta DPRD have questioned the DKI Provincial Government for the slow implementation of rehabilitation of school buildings that are no longer feasible in Jakarta.

This was conveyed in the general view of the factions towards accountability for the implementation of the DKI Regional Budget for the 2023 fiscal year.

Member of the Gerindra faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Munir, emphasized that his party had also questioned the DKI Provincial Government for the non-realization of school building rehabilitation in a plenary meeting of the views of the faction on the preparation of the APBD the previous year.

"Again, we question why heavy rehabilitation activities for schools that are no longer feasible in the DKI Jakarta area or those that have been included in the list of total rehabilitation but have not been carried out until this year," said Munir at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Monday, July 29.

The DKI Jakarta Education Office had previously planned the renovation of dozens of school buildings for 2023. The realization is that this activity is still in the process of auctioning construction work.

According to Munir, the slow process of planning the rehabilitation of this school building has also resulted in the low absorption of the capital expenditure budget of the Education Infrastructure and Facilities Management Unit in 2024.

"We view that this shows that there is no mature planning in the use of the available budget," explained Munir.

It is recorded that there are still 277 public schools in Jakarta that suffered severe damage. The DKI Provincial Government also plans to rehabilitate 27 school buildings in 2023 with a budget of IDR 720 billion. However, in reality, this activity has not been carried out.

Member of the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Cornelis Hotman, emphasized that the stagnation of school building rehabilitation clearly interferes with the student learning process.

"In reality, the total rehabilitation of the school building was not carried out at all and resulted in the teaching and learning process in schools that were completely affected," said Cornelis.

On the other hand, Cornelis said that the non-realization of school building rehabilitation was indicated to violate the Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 12 of 2019 concerning Regional Financial Management and SOP Number 3907/BPAD-PSDA/OT.05.17 concerning Identification, Research and Implementation of Regional Property Transfer.
