JAKARTA - Israeli drone attacks killed two people and injured three others in southern Lebanon.

Lebanon is preparing for retaliation for Israel following a rocket attack that killed 12 teenagers and children on Saturday, July 27.

On the evening of Sunday, July 28, Israel's security cabinet authorized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to decide on a way and time response to rocket attacks in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

Israel and the United States (ASO blamed Hezbollah Lebanon for the weekend's attack. Iranian-backed groups have denied involvement in this.

Missiles hitting the sports field in the Golan Heights risk increasing tensions more seriously, prompting international calls for both sides to exercise restraint.

There are no direct indications of what action Israel will take.

But the country's largest newspaper, Yedioth Ahronoth, quoted unnamed officials as saying the response given would be "constrained but significant".

The report said the choice to retaliate ranged from limited attacks but was 'pagged' against infrastructure including bridges, power plants and ports, to attack Hezbollah's weapons depot or target Hezbollah's high-level commanders.

Israeli drone attacks on Monday, July 29, in southern Lebanon injured three people including a baby, a Lebanese civil defense official told Reuters.

Rescue services did not say whether the dead were fighters or civilians.

The Israeli military said its air defenses shot down a drone that crossed from Lebanon into Western Galilean territory on Monday.

Meanwhile, flights at Beirut's international airport have been canceled or postponed as airlines respond to a possible response to Israel's retaliation.

Both Israel and Hezbollah have previously struggled to avoid a full-scale war since they began attacking each other in October in a conflict sparked by the Gaza war.
