Regarding The Determination Of Anies' Pair In The Pilkada, Cak Imin: There Are Many Dilemmas, I'm Not Participating

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar admitted that he did not interfere in determining the Anies Baswedan pair in the 2024 DKI Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor Election (Pilgub).

According to Imin, the withdrawal of cagub-cawagub mapping in Jakarta currently has many dilemmas. Likewise with regional elections in other areas.

This is what makes him not interfere.

"Since the many decisions that have to be taken, I have not participated," said Cak Imin when met in the Sudirman-Thamrin CFD area, Central Jakarta.

Thus, Cak Imin admitted to throwing the authority to nominate in the regional elections to the DPP PKB Regional Election Desk chaired by his brother, Abdul Halim Iskandar.

"I leave it to the Regional Head Election Desk," said Cak Imin.

Currently, PKB is predicted to carry Anies Baswedan as a candidate for the Governor of DKI Jakarta in 2014.

In addition to PKB, PKS has also provided recommendations for the investigation to Anies.

However, PKS has offered the name of the Deputy Chairperson of the PKS Syuro Council, Sohibul Iman, as the deputy governor of Anies' companion. Meanwhile, PKB has not agreed with PKS on this.

On the other hand, currently the name Anies dominates the electability of figures in the survey market for candidates for governor of DKI Jakarta.

In a poll released by Litbang Kompas, the electability of former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan was in the top position with a potential electability of up to 29.8 percent.

Anies is narrowly ahead of the former Governor of DKI Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) with 20.0 percent. Followed by former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil who was still at 8.5 percent.

Deputy Chairperson of the PKB, Jazilul Fawaid, assessed that Anies Baswedan was not suitable if he was paired with PDIP politician Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. Jazilul even said that Ahok would find it difficult to get support from other political parties.

"What is clear is that the dynamics in DKI is still ongoing. But the DKI PKB DPW has proposed Mr. Anies, that then there are other names such as Mr. Ahok, it may be difficult for the party that will carry Pak Ahok," said Jazilul at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 17.

"(Kadidat cawagub, ed) Yes, there are many, but what is clear is that Mr. Anies-Ahok is not, the combination is not right, Mr. Masinton may be right," he continued while laughing.

According to Jazilul, currently Anies' momentum is advancing as incumbent. Moreover, he said, Anies' survey has not yet beaten Jakarta.

"Right now, Mr. Anies' era, and the survey also remains to wait for the final discourse. Because DKI is definitely influenced by national political constalations," said Jazilul.
