BANDA ACEH - Patrols and raids on Islamic law are now routinely carried out in Banda Aceh with a main focus on four aspects of violations, namely clothing, khalwat, ikhtilat and khamar. This was revealed by the Civil Service Police Unit Officer and Wilayatul Hisbah (Satpol-WH) Banda Aceh City.

"We do clothing raids, as well as several other actions, namely khalwat, ikhtilat and khamar," said Head of Islamic Sharia Enforcement of Satpol PP-WH Banda Aceh Roslina A Djalil, in Banda Aceh, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, November 16.

He said the raids and patrols were one of the efforts to carry out the provisions of Islamic law in accordance with Aceh's Qanun (Regional Regulation) Number 11 of 2002 concerning the implementation of Islamic law in the field of aqidah, worship and syiar Islam.

For fashion raids, he said, officers only target people who wear clothes that are not in accordance with Islamic law, namely men with shorts, and women with tight pants, especially Muslim communities.

"For non-Muslims, they must also wear polite clothes (not shorts and tight)," he said.

He said officers tolerate non-Muslims who do not wear headscarves without any coercion to wear the headscarf for them.

"However, non-Muslims, both men and women are still asked to wear polite clothes as a form of respecting the implementation of Islamic law in Aceh," he said.

Roslina said that regarding the act of the calwat, it was the presence of non-muhrim men and women who were deliberately alone in a quiet place.

Furthermore, ikhtilat means that there are men and women without marriage ties committing making out (kissing, hugging or other forms of touch) both in a quiet or open place, and drinking (drinking).

He emphasized that for fashion violators, they were given coaching sanctions by officers and made a statement not to repeat it again.

"They are also asked to sign a statement / agreement letter that will not repeat acts that violate Islamic law qanun," he said.

Meanwhile, violators of the calwat, ikhtilat and khamar, will be subject to caning sanctions in accordance with the provisions of Aceh Qanun Number 6 of 2014 concerning Jinayat Law.

Roslina explained that khalwat perpetrators are threatened with a maximum caning sentence of 10 times or a maximum fine of 100 grams of pure gold or a maximum imprisonment of 10 months.

Then the ikhtilate, is threatened with a maximum caning sentence of 30 times or a maximum fine of 300 grams of pure gold or a maximum imprisonment of 30 months.

"Then, those who provide guard facilities are threatened with 45 lashes or a fine of 450 grams of pure gold or 45 months in prison," he said.

Furthermore, cases of people who deliberately drink khamar are threatened with 40 lashes. Meanwhile, those who produce, store, sell or enter are threatened with a maximum caning of 60 times or a maximum fine of 600 grams of pure gold or imprisonment for a maximum of 60 months.

"Finally, anyone who deliberately buys, carries/transports or rewards khamar is threatened with a maximum of 20 lashes or a maximum fine of 200 grams of pure gold or a maximum imprisonment of 20 months," said Roslina.
