KPU Calls The DPD RI PSU Fee At 17,569 West Sumatra TPS Capai Rp350 Billion

Acting Chairman of the Indonesian KPU Mochammad Afifuddin revealed that the re-voting costs (PSU) for the DPD RI Member Election in the Electoral Area (Dapil) of West Sumatra (West Sumatra) in 17,569 polling stations (TPS) spread across 19 districts/cities cost up to Rp350 billion.

"Yes, it is true (the PSU fee in West Sumatra is Rp. 350 billion), it is true that it is 17,000 buts. What we are, maybe our friends don't think about the situation," Afif said at the KPU RI Office, Jakarta, Friday.

He also explained that there had been a loss of contact with the ship carrying PSU logistics to the Mentawai. Even so, the implementation of the PSU must still be carried out.

"There is less or less, but this KPU has very little time, 13 days. We have done everything as much as possible," he said.

Previously, Thursday (18/7), Chairman of the Indonesian Bawaslu Rahmat Bagja reminded the Indonesian KPU to follow the decision of the Supreme Court (MA) to save the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).

This was conveyed by Bagja to Pernas XII JPPR, entitled Civil Society Navigation Facing the Democracy Crisis in Jakarta, Thursday.

Initially he revealed that the re-voting (PSU) for the DPD RI Member Election in the West Sumatra Election Area at 17,569 TTS spread across 19 districts/cities cost up to Rp350 billion.

"Friends try to guess the cost of PSU in West Sumatra for one ballot box, come on, how much? Rp100 billion? Just guess, for 17,000 but up to Rp350 billion," said Bagja.

To note, Irman Gusman became the figure behind the PSU because his lawsuit was accepted by the Constitutional Court (MK).

The reason is, the KPU is considered to ignore the Supreme Court's decision to follow the rules that have been decided by the Constitutional Court regarding the provisions of the 5-year gap period for former corruption convicts to run for legislative members.

However, the KPU at that time did not revise the KPU regulations (PKPU) until the deadline for the nomination of legislative members was completed.

Therefore, Bagja asked the KPU to determine the PKPU related to the requirements for regional head candidates in accordance with the Supreme Court's decision.

If it is not carried out according to the verdict, he is worried that there will be many PSUs that must be implemented.
