Investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission conducted a search at the Semarang City Education Office, Central Java, for about 2.5 hours, as a continuation of the search activities carried out since two days ago. The investigating team of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), which numbered eight people with police escorts, arrived at the Semarang City Education Office on Jalan dr. Wahidin Number 118 Semarang, Friday 19 July, at around 09.30 WIB. Arriving at the Disdik Office, they toured several rooms before entering the office head room on the second floor of the building. At around 11.52 WIB, KPK investigators left the Semarang City Education Office using five cars, carrying a suitcase. Head of Semarang City Disdik Bambang Pramusinto confirmed the search carried out by the KPK investigating team in a number of rooms in the office. In addition to searching, Bambang confirmed that the investigative team also asked for information on him and a number of staff at the Semarang City Disdik. Not only Bambang, KPK investigators also asked for information from the Secretary of Disdik Semarang City Erwan Rachmat and another staff. "On the first day of the search, KPK investigators targeted the Deputy Mayor and Regional Secretary, as well as the Semarang City Goods/Jasa Procurement Agency. On the second day, KPK investigators searched the Semarang City Social Service and Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda). Then, the Semarang City Communication and Information Office (Diskominfo), as well as the Semarang City Housing and Settlement Areas (Disperkim) Service Semarang City. In addition, KPK investigators had gathered a number of heads of regional apparatus organizations (OPD) in a room on the eighth floor of Moch Ichsan Building, Semarang City Hall, OPD Head, such as Head of Disperkim Yudi Wibowo, Head of Diskominfo Sunarto, and Head of Semarang City Spatial Planning Office Irwansyah also entered the room. KPK stated that the search was related to the handling of three cases of alleged corruption within the Semarang City Government. The three cases of alleged corruption include the procurement of goods and services within the Semarang City Government in 2023-2024, allegations of extortion against state employees for tax collection incentives and regional redistribution of Semarang City, as well as the alleged receipt of gratuities in 2023-2024. KPK investigators have also named a number of parties as suspects in the case, but have not provided further information regarding the identities of these parties.

KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto said four people had been prevented from traveling abroad in connection with the investigation of the alleged corruption case. The four people who were prohibited from traveling abroad, consisting of two people came from state officials and the rest were private parties.
