BMKG Predicts There Will Be An Increase In Rain Potential At The End Of July And August 2024

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts the potential for rain will increase at the end of July and August for the DKI Jakarta area. This was directly said by BMKG Meteorology and Geophysics Observer Nanda Alfuadi.

"In the future, there will be an increase in the potential for rain at the end of July and August 2024," said Nanda during the City Discussion with Journalists (Friends) at the South Jakarta Mayor's office, Thursday, July 18.

However, for the next week, it is predicted that the Jabodetabek area will still be relatively dry. He said that Jakarta is still entering the dry season, because the amount of rainfall in one basis (10 days) has not reached 50 millimeters and is followed by the next 2 (two) bases.

Even so, the occurrence of rain in Jakarta is still very potential. Because of the mural, the dry season does not cause any rain at all.

"It doesn't mean there's no rain at all," he said.

Therefore, he told the government to ensure infrastructure capacity and water resource management system to anticipate an increase in rainfall.

The public is also advised to anticipate rainy weather by monitoring weather development information and extreme weather early warning from the BMKG.
