PDIP Politician Says There Are Invisible Hands That Regulate The Jakarta Pilkada

JAKARTA - The chairman of the PDIP DPP, Deddy Yevri Sitorus, suspects that there are forces outside the party or invisible hands that interfere in regulating the dynamics of the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. This makes PDIP not yet decide the name to be carried as a candidate for governor.

"There are many scenarios outside political parties that play. There are scenarios outside political parties that contest. There are forces outside political parties whose names are invisible hands that are regulating Jakarta so that it becomes completely uncertain," said Deddy to reporters, Wednesday, July 17.

When asked about the name Anies Baswedan, who later became PDIP's consideration, Deddy admitted that his party had communicated with PKS and PKB informally.

"Yes, road communication continues with PKS at the DPD level and informal communication with the DPP exists. We hope that a very long relationship with PKB can also be maintained," he said.

"Because this is taking care of Jakarta, we really have to find a figure who is indeed able to fix the complexity of the problems in DKI. It's not people who learn like that," he continued.

In addition, Deddy admitted that PDIP is also still waiting for the political parties of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) to issue recommendations regarding the Jakarta Pilkada first. "Where? If they have decided, we will feel better about it," he concluded.
