West Kalimantan Kubu Raya Police Investigate Destruction Of 14 Chinese Ethnic Graves

JAKARTA - The Kubu Raya Resort Police (Polres), West Kalimantan investigated the case of 14 Chinese ethnic tombs in the Bhakti Suci cemetery area, Sungai Raya District which was allegedly damaged by irresponsible persons.

"Currently, the Kubu Raya Police Chief has ordered the Sungai Raya Police Chief to conduct data collection and in-depth investigations regarding the total number of tombs that have been damaged," said Head of Subsidy for the Kubu Raya Police, Aiptu Ade in Sungai Raya, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 16.

Ade explained in the order, the Police Chief also emphasized the importance of exploring the motives of the perpetrators for vandalizing the tomb.

"What has made the perpetrators immorally damage the tomb, as well as the motive for their actions," he said.

He said the Kubu Raya Police together with Babinkamtibmas Parit Baru had checked the Chinese graves that had been vandalized in 14 graves in the Bhakti Suci cemetery area.

"Based on public reports, we have checked and temporarily recorded 14 tombs that were damaged," said Ade.

The case of the destruction of this tomb has not only become a serious concern for the police, but has also sparked reactions from various circles of society, especially the Chinese community in Kubu Raya.

Many have denounced the act as an inhumane act and hope that the perpetrators can be immediately arrested and punished according to applicable law.

With this investigative action, it is hoped that similar incidents will not happen again and security and order in the Kubu Raya area will be maintained.
