Accepting British Foreign Minister, President Herzog Calls Israel Fighting Iran's Efforts To Damage Global Stability

JAKARTA - President Isaac Herzog said one of the challenges facing Israel was against Iran's efforts to disrupt global stability when it received British Foreign Minister David Lemmy on Monday.

"The link between the British and Israeli people is as strong and strong as historical ties and has an impact, especially now, in facing the challenges ahead, in repatriating the hostages who ignited them in Gaza and in the fight against the evil empire led by Iran, which seeks to disrupt global stability," President Herzog tweeted. on Twitter, as quoted July 15.

President Herzog said, during Foreign Minister Lemmy's first visit to the region, the two leaders also discussed the mission of repatriating all Israeli hostages in Gaza. He said Israel was "working tirelessly" to bring home the hostages.

"I really hope there will be a hostage-taking agreement soon. This is a very important step," said President Herzog, both in terms of benefits and to help end the conflict," he said.

"We are a nation seeking peace, and I believe that we must find peace with our neighbors," he said.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Lemmy hopes "we will see a hostage-taking deal appear in the coming days, and I am using all diplomatic efforts. Indeed, last week with the G7 countries, and in particular with Foreign Minister Blinken who urged the hostage-taking deal."

He also expressed his hope of seeing a ceasefire, to end suffering and "the loss of unbearable lives" in Gaza.

However, Foreign Minister Lemmy did not call for the removal of Hamas as part of the ceasefire.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Lemmy met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa.

"Our message is clear: we need an immediate ceasefire, the immediate release of all hostages, the protection of civilians, unrestricted access to aid in Gaza and a path to a two-state solution," he tweeted.
