Secretary General Of PAN Calls KIM One Voice Effort For Jakarta And West Java

JAKARTA - Secretary General (Secretary General) of the National Mandate Party (PAN) DPP Eddy Soeparno said that the parties who are members of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) are still trying for one vote when nominating a pair of names for the 2024 Pilkada in West Java and Jakarta Provinces.

Therefore, he considered it natural that currently each party was still working on potential names and proposed its cadres to advance in the contestation of the West Java (Jabar) and Jakarta Pilkadas.

"We indeed at the Forward Indonesia Coalition have agreed as much as possible to maximize it in West Java, in DKJ (Special Jakarta Area, ed.). We are together with KIM's friends carrying a pair of candidates that we agree on together. So, more or less like that," said Eddy answering reporters' questions when met at the PAN DPP Office, Jakarta, Sunday, July 14.

Eddy also said that for Jakarta, KIM parties also have the same mission to defeat incumbents, namely Anies Baswedan, who last month had received advanced support as a candidate for Governor of Jakarta from the PKB DPW.

"We see that there are indeed many people who want to move forward in Jakarta. However, what are the opportunities to beat the incumbent? Of course, it needs to be taken into account because incumbents are usually favored," said the Secretary General of PAN.

Meanwhile, for West Java, the Secretary General of PAN said that KIM parties are currently still conducting a final survey to determine the names they carry.

"Well, we'll see how the output from the survey is for us to determine in the final because once we have determined, once we announce it, we don't want to pull it back because it will confuse the public," said Eddy.

Therefore, KIM parties, including PAN, chose not to rush in determining the candidate pair for governor/candidate for deputy governor for regional elections in West Java.

"We are waiting for the time, when we have agreed to get the best survey results, then we agree on who we will carry. This is the time for us to announce it, there are still around 40 days left," said the Secretary General of PAN.

PAN for the Jakarta Pilkada is still preparing the Chairman of the PAN DPP Zita Anjani and the Chairman of the PAN Jakarta DPW Eko Hendro Purnomo alias Eko Patrio. For West Java, PAN has prepared the names Bima Arya Sugiarto and Desy Ratnasari.

The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia has determined that regional head elections take place simultaneously in 37 provinces and 508 regencies/cities. The vote for the 2024 Pilkada is scheduled to take place on November 27, 2024.
