Free Health Checks Starting February For All Age Categories

BOGOR - The Free Health Check Program starts in February 2025 targeting cardiovascular disease and other diseases that are grouped by age categories.

"Free Health Checks are President Prabowo Subianto's Fastest Result Program (PHTC) in 2025," said Spokesperson for the Presidential Communication Office, Dedek Prayudi, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 3.

At the age of toddlers, he said, a health check will be carried out which is focused on the detection of congenital diseases, such as congenital hypothyroids.

If detected, this disease will be treated earlier, so as to prevent the risk of mental retardation in children.

For youth groups, health screening includes obesity, diabetes, and dental examinations. This screening is focused on health problems that often begin to develop in childhood and adolescents.

The WHO World Health Organization and the UN Agency for Children UNICEF emphasize the importance of health screening in children as a crucial step to detect early various health conditions that can affect children's development and well-being.

"Health screening helps in early detection of health problems such as malnutrition, anemia, hearing impairments, and visual impairments," he said.

According to Dedek, early detection allows for faster and more effective intervention, this program helps give birth to the 2045 Golden Generation.

Through screening, many diseases can be prevented before developing into more serious conditions. For example, by providing timely immunizations can prevent potentially deadly infectious diseases.

Meanwhile, the screening program for adults is focused on cancer examinations, such as breast cancer, uterine neck, lungs, and large intestines.

While screening for the elderly, apart from focusing on cardiovascular diseases, detection is also carried out for the detection of diseases due to the aging process.

Dedek also reminded that the program will start around February 2025 and those with birthdays in 2025 will get special surprises from the state.

"Those who are included in the service recipients and birthdays in early 2025 are entitled to a birthday present from President Prabowo. Come to the puskesmas or other nearby health facilities, show identity cards, get a complete health check, for free," he said.

"It's easy and the value is not small when paid in personal pockets. Get rights, maintain a healthy lifestyle so that it remains productive and more prosperous, for the future of family and nation," he said.
