Bobby Nasution Wants Companion In The North Sumatra Gubernatorial Election For Women

Mayor of Medan who is also a candidate for governor of North Sumatra Bobby Nasution admitted that he wanted to choose a female figure as a candidate for deputy governor in the 2024 North Sumatra Governor and Deputy Governor Election (Pilgub).

This statement was made by Bobby after receiving a recommendation letter from the National Awakening Party (PKB) to run in the 2024 North Sumatra gubernatorial election. The submission of a recommendation letter for Bobby Nasution's candidacy was carried out directly by the Deputy Chairperson of PKB Jazilul Fawaid at the PKB DPP office, Jalan Raden Saleh, Senen, Central Jakarta, Thursday 4 July.

"In accordance with what NU figures in North Sumatra have said, the representatives who accompany me are female figures. Because this issue is a central issue to build superior human resources to achieve Indonesia Gold 2045. Women's figures in the women's sector are considered very important to make Indonesia Gold a success in 2045," said Bobby.

The son-in-law of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) admitted that he was honored to have the support of PKB. He considered the support from PKB to be a mandate to build North Sumatra if elected governor for the period 2024-2029.

"Allow me to express my deepest gratitude to the PKB for giving me the task and mandate to become a candidate for governor of North Sumatra for the period 2024-2029. Of course, what was conveyed from PKB until this afternoon was given to me personally to build North Sumatra, we will hold fast," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of PKB Jazilul Fawaid said his party hoped that Bobby Nasution would choose a female figure as a companion in the 2024 North Sumatra gubernatorial election. PKB hopes that Bobby will have a duet with a woman who is believed to be able to boost her electability.

"We hope that his deputy can also boost Mas Bobby's electability, if possible from elements of women or figures in North Sumatra," said Jazilul.

He said Bobby Nasution's companion would be discussed by supporting coalition parties in the 2024 North Sumatra Pilgub.

"In the future, it will be decided with coalition parties that will carry Mas Bobby. As far as I know, there are PKB, Golkar, Gerindra, Nasdem, PAN, Democrats, and PPP. So, this is a big coalition, a super coalition, which shows that the light of victory is in Mas Bobby with PKB and other supporting parties," he added.
