Residents Of Kemayoran Complain About Youth Brawl Simultaneously, Worried About Falling Victims

JAKARTA - A brawl between two groups of teenagers occurred in a densely populated residential area, Utan Panjang Village, Kemayoran District, Central Jakarta on Thursday, June 28.

The brawl was caught on CCTV cameras. A group of teenagers was seen running around because they were attacked and chased by another teenager who was carrying a large sickle in his hand.

According to one resident named Marco, the brawl incident in a densely populated residential area occurred at around 04.00 WIB.

When the brawl occurred, suddenly in his area his house was crowded with screams from teenagers who attacked each other.

"It happened suddenly there was a loud sound from outside. I myself was resting and suddenly woke up in shock. There was a crowd and a young man was carrying a sharp weapon," Marco told reporters at the scene.

During the incident, Marco did not dare to see himself out of his house. He also took the initiative to look at CCTV at his house, and a group of teenagers was seen fighting.

"I think they were chased by the perpetrators of the brawl, they became gangsters too, some brought motorbikes. What we are worried about is that there are victims," he said.

Marco hopes that the police can patrol his area more often, to be safer from brawlers or gangsters who suddenly like to attack residents.

"Because it has happened many times too, hopefully the authorities can help often patrol. Residents are already restless," he said.
