Airlangga Waits For Scientific Evaluation Before Carrying Ridwan Kamil In The Jakarta Or West Java Pilkada

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto is waiting for scientific evaluation and study before determining that he will carry his cadre, Ridwan Kamil (RK) in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada), either in the Jakarta or West Java (West Java) gubernatorial elections.

"We will wait for the evaluation first, we will decide later. But everything is based on scientific and evaluation," said Airlangga when met after the 75th Anniversary of Theo Sambuaga and the Launch of Books in Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, June 22.

In the previous regional head elections (pilkada), he said Golkar managed to win a vote of 60 percent thanks to scientific studies.

This, he said, also occurred in the 2024 legislative elections (Pileg), in which there was an increase in Golkar votes, thanks to scientific studies that had been carried out previously.

"So we will not leave this scientific basis," he said.

However, when asked if he would nominate Golkar Party cadres or candidates along with other parties, Airlangga emphasized that he would carry the proposed candidate along with his coalition in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada.

"We always run together because the Golkar Party does not run alone, but goes together with the Advanced Indonesia Coalition," he said.

Meanwhile, in the West Java Pilkada, he mentioned that the Golkar Party has 27 internal cadres for all regencies/cities in West Java.

Previously, the Chairperson of the Java 1 election victory of the Golkar Party, MQ Iswara, expressed his great support for RK, to run in the West Java simultaneous regional elections.

"I got a lot of calls and short messages, who sent news and support to Ridwan Kamil," he said when contacted in Jakarta (20/6).

The management of Golkar West Java and districts/cities, various community leaders to relevant stakeholders, hopes that Kang Emil will return to West Java. The reason is that while leading West Java, Emil is considered successful. Even the survey results were the highest, including the level of public satisfaction.

Iswara, who is also the winning commander of the provinces of Jakarta, Banten and West Java, admitted that when they had to campaign for RK in West Java or Jakarta, of course, Jakarta worked harder.

He said RK received two assignment letters from Golkar for the West Java Pilkada and the Jakarta Pilkada. However, whatever the decision for the placement of RK, all were returned to the mechanism of the Golkar Party and General Chair Airlangga Hartarto.
