Not Attending Jakarta Anniversary Celebration At PRJ When Anies Is There, Heru Budi: I Have A Meeting Until The Night

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono explained the reason he did not attend the celebration of the 497th Anniversary of Jakarta City which was held at the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran or Jakarta Grand Week (PRJ) on Friday, June 21 yesterday.

Heru's presence as regional head at the fireworks event at PRJ was replaced by the Mayor of Central Jakarta, Dhany Sukma. Meanwhile, former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan was also present at the event.

Last night, Heru admitted that he was busy in charge of preparing a series of events for the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. Remember, Heru also holds the position of Head of the Presidential Secretariat (Kasetpres).

"I had a meeting until the evening related to the Indonesian Independence Day. So the military ceremony was continued with discussions on lowering the flag, what was completed was a marathon until 9 pm," Heru said when met in the Monas area, Central Jakarta, Saturday, June 22.

Heru then emphasized that he had participated in the annual exhibition event at the inauguration of the opening which was also attended by President Joko Widodo on June 12.

"After all, I have already opened it," said Heru.

Yesterday, Anies Baswedan attended the celebration of the 497th anniversary of Jakarta City which was held at the Jakarta Fair as an invited guest. Meanwhile, Heru was not present and represented by the Mayor of Central Jakarta, Dhany Sukma.

On stage, Dhany read out the remarks that should have been said by Heru if he was present. Through Dhany, Heru apologized for not attending the Jakarta Anniversary celebration at the Jakarta Fair.

"I would like to express my apologies as well as greetings from the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Province, Mr. Heru Budi Hartono, who should be here with us because of a lot of activities so that," said Dhany Sukma on stage. Jakarta Fair, Friday, June 21.

Suddenly, a number of people who were in the line of spectators in front of the stage cheered for the absence of the Head of the Presidential Secretariat.

Continuing his remarks, Dhany said that the DKI Provincial Government appreciates the celebration of the Jakarta Fair which is considered a special momentum for the people of Jakarta.

"The series of 497th Anniversary of Jakarta City, Jakarta, is a global city of millions of charm, we want to show that Jakarta is a city that continues to develop and progress in various aspects of life," explained Dhany.

Furthermore, Anies is welcome to give a signal of launching fireworks as a sign of the celebration of Jakarta's anniversary. As long as fireworks glide in the air, Anies turns on his cellphone camera to take selfies with the public from the stage.
