Selling The Name Of The Mosque For Eid Al-Adha Donations, Extortion Perpetrators In South Tangerang Arrested By Residents

TANGERANG MHF (24) and MJJ (15) were detained at the Pondok Aren Police, South Tangerang on suspicion of illegal levies (extortion). The mode used by the two young men was on behalf of donations from the Al-Gophur Mosque and Karang Taruna Parigi.

The Head of Pondok Aren Police, Kompol Bambang Askar Sodiq, said that the extortion carried out by MHF and MJJ occurred on June 16, 2024, then in Parigi.

"It is true that two extortionists were arrested on behalf of the Al-Gophur Mosque and Karang Taruna Parigi," said Bambang when confirmed, Friday, June 21.

Bambang said, the perpetrator bought receipts from the shop and the Karang Taruna stamp of South Tangerang City in order to smooth out his crime.

The perpetrator bought a receipt from the shop, and made a "TANGSEL CITY TARUNA SOLD" stamp to the stamp in Parigi and his own signature. The perpetrator made a price on the receipt of Rp. 20,000 with the donation mode Eid al-Adha," he said.

"Even though the perpetrators do not have permission from the Al-Gophur Mosque and local youth organizations. In total, the results of extortion, the two perpetrators can only get Rp. 80 thousand," he said.

After being arrested by residents, MHF and MJJ were taken to the Pondok Aren Police Station for questioning.
