TANGERANG - Police arrested a methamphetamine dealer with the initials JI (26) in the village area of Peusar, Tigaraksa, Tangerang Regency.

Tigaraksa Police Chief, Commissioner Agus Ahmad Kurnia said the arrest took place on Thursday night, June 13.

"We were arrested when we were about to transact methamphetamine on the side of the road in Peusar Village, Cileles Village," Agus said in his statement, Thursday, June 20.

Agus explained that the arrests stemmed from reports from the public that there were drug transactions. On that basis, his party followed up by conducting an investigation around the scene.

While in the vicinity of the arrest site, officers saw a man standing on the side of the road suspicious.

For his actions, JI was named a suspect. He was charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) and/or Article 112 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a maximum sentence of death.
