A 14-year-old Boy Dies After Being Beaten By A Balok While Recording A Brawl In Kalideres, The Perpetrator Is Arrested

JAKARTA - A 14-year-old boy with the initials AP breathed his last after being hit in the head by a wooden block by a man with the initials DMS (14) on Jalan Kamal Raya, Tegal Alur, Kalideres District, West Jakarta.

The victim's head was hit by a wooden block by the perpetrator when the victim was busy recording videos of a brawl by his group.

From DMS' confession, initially he intended to separate the brawl that occurred in the area near his house. The brawl came from two groups of teenagers.

DMS, who was annoyed with the frequent brawls in his neighborhood, tried to stop the fight by throwing logs and hitting the victim's head.

Kapolsek Kalideres Kompol Abdul Jana, said the incident occurred when DMS was at home and heard the commotion of children fighting by riding a motorcycle on three.

"Then the suspect ran to the middle of the road shouting 'disbanded'. The suspect saw the motorbike driven by the victim and his friend riding three, and the victim's position was in the middle," said Commissioner Abdul Jana when confirmed, Thursday, June 20.

The perpetrators of the initials DMS also tried to block the perpetrators of a brawl in the middle of the road. However, when the victim who was driving away from DMS suddenly turned around, the wooden block carried by DMS hit the head of the AP.

As a result, AP fell and his friends fled. Meanwhile, the victim who suffered serious injuries to his head immediately received help from local residents.

"The victim was helped by residents and taken to Cengkareng Hospital," he said.

Even though he hit the victim's head, the suspect with the initials DMS also helped the victim. Even DMS also asked for help from motorcyclists who passed by to take the victim to the hospital.

After the incident, the victim's family reported this incident to the Kalideres Police. An investigation was carried out, and it was found that the victim suffered serious head injuries.

Despite having received treatment at the hospital, AP finally died. During the investigation, the Kalideres Police Criminal Investigation Team led by Kanit continued to look for evidence and follow CCTV around the scene.

From CCTV footage, the police learned that DMS fled to Central Java. DMS was finally arrested in Banjarnegara, Susukan, Central Java.

"After being interrogated, the perpetrator admitted that he was the one who hit the victim using a wooden block as seen on CCTV," he said.

The police chief said that DMS' motive for taking the action was because he was annoyed by the frequent brawls in his area.

"The results of the interrogation show that the perpetrators were upset by the frequent brawls," he said.

For his actions, the DMS perpetrator was charged with Article 80 paragraph 3 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 17 of 2016 concerning the stipulation of government regulations in lieu of Law number 1 of 2016, concerning the second amendment to Law number 23 of 2002 concerning child protection. The perpetrator is threatened with a maximum prison sentence of 15 years.
