Forest and land fires are reported to have occurred in the Savana Widodaren area which is included in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) area in the Pasuruan Regency, East Java.Chairman of the Fire Care Community (MPA) Ngadas Sampetono in Malang Regency, East Java, Thursday, said based on initial information, forest and land fires in the national park area had occurred since Tuesday (18/6) night. "Since Tuesday night. Currently, the condition is still burning," said Sampetono as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 20. Sampetono explained that the fire occurred in the Widodeen area, which led to a viewpoint Penanjakan and entered the administrative area of Pasuruan Regency. The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area is located in four regions. According to him, the Ngadas MPA has sent approximately 17 personnel since the forest and land fires were discovered on Tuesday night. On Wednesday (19/10) there were ten personnel deployed, while on Thursday (20/6) seven personnel. "For yesterday from Ngadas MPA there were sent ten people, today there are still seven people," he said. The current condition of the fire is still under the handling of the joint personnel including the Ngadas MPA. For Bromo tourism, it is still open and has not yet been closed due to forest and land fires. "For tourism it is still open. It is still uncertain how far the area is affected," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Relations Evaluation Data Team of the TNBTS Center, Hendra Wisantara, said that the regional management is currently still digging up information from personnel in the field regarding the fire incident. "We are currently still digging for information and confirmation from friends in the field," said Hendra. For information, on September 6, 2023, there was also a big fire in the area, due to the use of flares or flares for shooting purposes. At that time, the tourist access to the Bromo area was closed to tourists. The national park area was closed on September 6-18, 2023 due to the forest and land fires.
