JAKARTA - 4-story office building on Jalan Perjuangan RT 01/07, Kebon Jeruk Village, Kebon Jeruk District, West Jakarta, caught fire on Friday, June 14, afternoon.

The fire incident was first discovered by security guard Osbon who saw the fire appearing on the 3rd floor of the building. Knowing that there was a fire, he also tried to extinguish the fire using an APAR.

However, his efforts were unsuccessful. Osbon also asked his colleagues for help, but the flames quickly spread to other parts.

"Because the smoke was thick, he could not re-enter the 3rd floor, then he contacted the Damkar," said Head of West Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Syarifudin when confirmed.

A total of 17 cars were deployed to the fire site with 85 firefighters. Luckily, the flames were extinguished at 16.15 WIB.

"The object caught fire on the 4th floor of Plaza Prisma, but only on the 3rd floor was burned. It is suspected that the cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit," he said.

The burned area is about 60 square meters. As a result of this incident, the owner is estimated to have suffered a loss of Rp. 300 million.

"The victim was nil. However, during the blackout, thick smoke was constrained because the room was closed, there was very little ventilation and material that caught fire was a type of gasbule or sound damping on the wall," he said.
