Ministry Of Religion Notes 25 Indonesian Hajj Candidates Died

The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) noted that up to now as many as 25 Indonesian Hajj candidates have died during the process of carrying out the pilgrimage.

This figure is the number recorded by Saudi Arabian Hajj Organizers (PPIH) until Wednesday (29/5) at 21.00 Saudi Arabian Time or Thursday, at 01.00 West Indonesia Time (WIB).

"So far, 25 people have died," said Hajj Media Center (MCH) Officer Widi Dwinanda at a press conference for organizing the Hajj pilgrimage as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 30.

Widi said that all pilgrims who died would be converted to worship. The Ministry of Religion has also stated that pilgrims for Hajj are protected by insurance during the pilgrimage.

In addition, he said, the Ministry of Religion also noted that 131,513 Indonesian Hajj candidates divided into 335 flying groups (kloters) had arrived in Saudi Arabia.

"Today, Thursday, May 30, 2024, there are 20 groups with 7,912 prospective pilgrims being flown to Jeddah," he said.

Widi detailed that all the pilgrims departing today were dispatched through the Jakarta-Pondok Gede (JKG) Embarkation as many as 880 Hajj candidates (two groups), the Solo Embarkation (SOC) as many as 1,440 Hajj candidates (four clusters), and the Medan Embarkation (KNO) as many as 360 Hajj candidates (one batch).

Then Surabaya Embarkation (SUB) as many as 1,113 Hajj candidates (three groups), Palembang Embarkation (PLM) as many as 444 Hajj candidates (one batch), Batam Embarkation (BTH) as many as 350 Hajj candidates (one cluster), and Makassar Embarkation (UPG) as many as 900 hajj candidates (two groups).

Furthermore, Balikpapan (BPN) Embarkation as many as 324 Hajj candidates (one cluster), Jakarta-Bekasi Embarkation (JKS) as many as 1,320 Hajj candidates (three groups), Aceh Embarkation (BTJ) as many as 388 Hajj candidates (one batch), and Padang Embarkation (PDG) as many as 393 hajj candidates (one batch).
