Sandiaga Uno Supports Bobby Nasution Forward In The 2024 North Sumatra Gubernatorial Election

The Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, who will run in the 2024 North Sumatra gubernatorial election, has received support from the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf), Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno.

Sandiaga stated that he personally supported Bobby Nasution to run in the 2024 North Sumatra gubernatorial election. The support was conveyed directly by Sandiaga after opening the 7th Gebyar Melayu Serumpun 2024 event in the courtyard of the Maimun Palace, Jalan Brigadier General Katamso, Medan Maimun District, Medan City, North Sumatra, on Wednesday, May 29 evening.

"The Wali's smile may be in line with the increasing electability of the last survey. Personally, I certainly really support the Mayor for a better future," said Sandiaga.

Sandiaga also added that although he personally supports Bobby Nasution, official support from the party will follow the mechanism that is being discussed. Sandiaga, who in the 2024 presidential election served as chairman of the Election Winning Body (Bappilu) of the United Development Party (PPP), stated that the discussion was ongoing in his party.

"For the party, I think there will be a mechanism later, and the discussion has started. Hopefully, everything can produce even better leaders," he said.

Meanwhile, Bobby Nasution's electability reportedly skyrocketed compared to a number of other gubernatorial candidates such as Edy Rahmayadi, Musa Rajekshah, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok, and Nikson Nababan who are regents of North Tapanuli. In response to this, Bobby Nasution asked for prayers and support so that he could build a better North Sumatra.

"Please pray and support," replied Bobby.

The Vote Institute Survey Institute released the results of a survey related to the electability of candidates for Governor of North Sumatra in the upcoming 2024 North Sumatra gubernatorial election. From a survey involving 1,800 respondents in 33 regencies/cities in North Sumatra, as many as 21 figures became the object of interviews related to who is the most desirable to become the next Governor of North Sumatra. Based on the results of the Vote Institute survey as of May 2024, Bobby Nasution's electability reached 35.2%.
