JAKARTA - The Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP) will summon the driver of the Chairman of the Indonesian KPU Hasyim Asy'ari to provide information in the ethics trial of alleged immoral acts against the implementation of foreign elections (PPLN), Thursday, June 6, 2024. "The DKPP will call them, for example, the driver, who else, the secretary general, because there are several things that must be explored," said DKPP Chairman Heddy Lugito when met by media crews in the Menteng area, Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, May 28. "There are several trips, what's wrong, there's this, there's that, we have to verify it," he continued. Previously, in the inaugural trial, related parties from the Indonesian KPU, both members of Betty Epsilon Idroos and the general secretariat, only attached a written statement instead of being present at the trial. Heddy said that in the inaugural trial, there were several new data so that the DKPP examining panel felt the need to confirm and conduct direct questions. "So, the testimony or written statement is not enough because we have to confirm several things. Let everything be clear. They must be present at the trial, because we have to confirm several written statements," said Heddy. "So, there are new data that we have to verify with the KPU secretariat, including the secretary general and several other employees, 3 other employees. I think that's all because there are new data," he added. Hasyim Asy'ari was reported to the Indonesian DKPP on Thursday (18/4) by the Legal Aid Consultation Institute and the Choice of Settlement of Disputes at the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia (LKBH-PPS FH UI) and the Legal Aid Institute of the Indonesian Women's Association for Justice (LBH APIK). The attorney for victim Maria Diinita Prosperianti explained that Hasyim's actions as a defendant were included in the violation of the code of ethics based on DKPP Regulation Number 2 of 2017 concerning the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct for General Election Organizers. Maria said that in reporting to the DKPP RI there was a number of evidences that indicated a violation of the code of ethics by Hasyim. He said Hasyim was concerned with his personal interests to satisfy his sexual desires. "There have been several dozen pieces of evidence, yes, such as screenshots (screenshots) of conversations, photos, and videos, as well as evidence. I have explained earlier, this evidence can show that it is truly structured, systematic, and active, and here the accused also provides information manipulation and also spreads confidential information to show his power," he said. He also said that Hasyim's actions against the victim showed repeated actions. Therefore, he hopes that the Indonesian DKPP will not only give a stern warning to the case involving his client.

"There is a similar case, but maybe a little different from what happened to the Golden Woman. This has also been given the last tough warning sanction. So, after a decision from the DKPP, our target should indeed be the sanction given no longer warning, but is dismissal," he said.
