Mataram City Government Bans Concert Activities At Udayana Terrace Tourism

The Government of Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has banned large-scale concerts at the Udayana Terrace Tourism to avoid unwanted things such as damage to various facilities in the area. "We will not give permission to use Teras Udayana for large concerts so that it does not exceed the area capacity of around 2,000 people," said Mataram Mayor H Mohan Roliskana in Mataram, Antara, Tuesday, May 21. The policy is part of an evaluation during the socialization of the stages of the NTB Governor and Deputy Governor Election which will be held on Friday, May 10 evening. In this activity, the committee held an entertainment event and invited one of the local band groups so that residents spilled over and exceeded the capacity in the Udayana Teras stands. As a result, there was damage to several facilities in Teras Udayana, including damage to the guardrail of the Udayana Teras stands, three spotlights, and two letters of damage, namely the letters U and D on the ornaments that read Udayana. The mayor said that although the damage had been repaired immediately, it was still a lesson for the city government to be more selective in issuing permits. Moreover, Teras Udayana tourism is one of the new public spaces because it was only inaugurated in mid-January 2024. "We don't want that to happen again, and we will be more selective and assertive when issuing a permit to use the Udayana Terrace," he said. On the other hand, the Mayor also emphasized that the Udayana Teras Tourism is not allowed for political activities. Therefore, during the legislative and presidential elections, Teras Udayana cannot be used for campaign activities.

"Likewise, during the regional elections later, Teras Udayana must be sterile from political activities. For this reason, we have an agreement with the KPU," he added.
