TANGERANG - Police are following up on the alleged fraud case with the iPhone 15 Promax giveaway mode experienced by a journalist, with the reported social media account @rsiavitalaya.

Head of Public Relations of the South Tangerang Police, AKP Agil when met by VOI at the South Tangerang Police, Wednesday, May 15, explained that his party was conducting an investigation.

"I have communicated with the Criminal Investigation Unit. It has been handled by the Resmob unit. It was immediately followed up," said AKP Agil.

Agil said that at this time his party had asked for statements from a number of witnesses and collected evidence to find out the real incident.

"After receiving the report, he clarified the victim's witness and other witnesses," he said.

A journalist claimed to have been a victim of the give away iPhone 15 Promax fraud by the social media account @rsiavitalaya, Pamulang, South Tangerang. Losses reached Rp9 million.

According to the information obtained, the incident began when the victim, who did not want to be named, received a link to the social media account @rsiavitalaya containing the iPhone 15 Promax giveaway content, Sunday, May 12.

The victim also followed the steps written in the explanation of the media account.

"After I screenshot, I sent it to the WA number. It was WA, and I got it. I was told to transfer money. Stupidly I didn't check right away, finally it happened," said the victim when contacted by VOI, Monday, May 13.

After sending proof of transfer to the WA number claiming to be from RSIA Vitalaya, it turned out that the account again asked for money with the excuse of guaranteeing the item.

"I transferred the money, he WA asked for it to be transferred again. What does this mean? Then he called. He said it was just a guarantee, the transfer father came back in the amount of Rp. 9 million. I immediately realized that this was fraud," said the victim.

Realizing that he had been deceived, the victim came to RSIA Vitalaya, Pamulang, South Tangerang. However, at that time the management could not find it, because according to him it coincided with a holiday.

"When I got there there there was no management, only there were ordinary employees. They said that it was hacked," he said.

The victim admitted that he only had the capital to believe in the account. For this incident, the victim made a report to the South Tangerang Police with the number TBL/B/1105/N/2024/SPKT/SPKT/SELATAN TANGERANG/POLDA METRO JAYA, Sunday, May 12 at around 16.32 WIB.

When VOI reporters contacted RSIA Vitalaya's management for confirmation, it was said that his office's official Instagram account had been hacked. So he didn't know if there was any fraud.

"The notification of the Instagram account @rsiavitalaya has been hacked by irresponsible parties," he said.
