Central Jakarta Police Will Act On Extortion Of Parking At The Istiqlal Mosque

The Central Jakarta Metro Police are still investigating the rise of illegal levies (extortion) with the illegal parking mode of vehicles in front of the Istiqlal Mosque, Sawah Besar District, Central Jakarta.

Even if an individual is involved in the practice of illegal parking in front of the Istiqlal Mosque that has occurred several years ago, the Central Jakarta Metro Police will not hesitate to reveal it.

"The (case) is still being investigated. It will be dealt with," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, May 14.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Sawah Besar Police, Kompol Dhanar Dhono Vernandhie, emphasized that the Istiqlal Mosque was a no-parking zone.

"We are concerned if anyone feels they are victims of bullying, when it is reported, we will definitely follow up. For people who have felt they have become victims, please report it to the Sawah Besar Police," he said.

Meanwhile, from the results of the examination carried out by the Sawah Besar Police, there were several groups that carried out their operations (illegal parking) here.

"We are still investigating who will control his activities (illegal jukir). We will continue to explore where the flow is," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the practice of illegal parking in the area in front of the Istiqlal Mosque, Sawah Besar District, Central Jakarta, which has been around for several years, always escapes the supervision of relevant agencies. As a result, until now the existence of illegal parking in the area is still fertile.

"This has been investigated since last year, until now we are conducting an investigation, but no one has become a victim directly and then reported it to the Sawah Besar Police," said Sawah Besar Police Chief Kompol Dhanar Dhono Vernandhie, Monday, May 13.
