JAKARTA - A young man was caught by residents while committing theft at the Bank Rakyat Indonesia Mandiri Cash Pavilion (ATM) machine (BRI) on Jalan Dermaga Raya, Klender Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, Tuesday, May 14.

The perpetrator was caught and arrested because his movements had been stalked by residents and security officers at the ATM outlet.

According to the information gathered, the perpetrators did not carry out the burglary once, but had been more than 3 times since yesterday. However, because his movements began to get suspicious, the perpetrators were finally caught by residents and security officers while carrying out their actions.

When arrested, the perpetrator was attacked by a mob who was furious at his actions. However, the vigilant action was successfully driven away by the Duren Sawit Police Buser Team who arrived at the location.

The two hands and feet of the perpetrators were tied by residents using duct tape so as not to escape. Luckily, the police officers who arrived at the scene, so that the tantrums of the masses could be suppressed by the authorities and the perpetrators were immediately taken to the Duren Sawit Police Headquarters for examination.

Bank security officer, Fauzan admitted that he was suspicious of the perpetrator's actions. Moreover, the perpetrators have acted several times at the same ATM outlet.

"There have been three thefts of money using the ATM mode for the past three days," Fauzan told reporters, Tuesday, May 14.

Seeing the suspicious perpetrator's movements, Fauzan immediately contacted residents who were worried about the actions of the perpetrators of the ATM.

Residents immediately raided the perpetrators during their actions, so that the unknown perpetrator became the target of the residents. Meanwhile, the other perpetrators fled after seeing the herd being beaten by the masses.

"The perpetrators were two people. One of the perpetrators who was on guard across the street, an ATM machine managed to escape on a motorbike," said Fauzan.

In the action, he added, the perpetrator entered an ATM card and held the cover where the money came out of the ATM machine.

As is known, cases of ATM marijuana are rife in the East Jakarta area. Previously, a perpetrator of theft of BRI's Automated Cash Card (ATM) was arrested by residents while launching his action in a minimarket in the Rawamangun area, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta, last Thursday, May 9.
