JAKARTA - A man's body was found floating in the Sodong River on Jalan Poncol Atas, Jati Village, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta, Monday, May 13, afternoon.

From his body, an identity card named Ahmad Rendy (38), a resident of West Cakung, Cakung District, East Jakarta was found. When found, the victim was wearing a long-sleeved shirt and jeans.

According to residents, the victim has not returned since yesterday.

"Initially it was found by a motorcycle taxi driver who saw a corpse on the edge of the river. Then it was reported to the Pulogadung Police," said one resident to the officer.

The bodies of the victims who were in the river were then evacuated by the East Jakarta firefighters (Damkar). The bodies of the victims were evacuated by 10 firefighters and finished at 18.15 WIB.

The victim's body was then taken to the RSCM. Meanwhile, the case is being handled by the Pulogadung Police.

Pulogadung Police Chief Kompol Sutrisno said his party could not confirm the main cause of the death toll.

"We are still waiting for the Inafis team from the East Jakarta Metro Police. We will carry out further investigations," he said.
