TANGERANG - A man named Subianto was arrested by residents, after failing to snatch a bag belonging to an elderly woman, Siti Yuliati (79). Subianto was arrested by residents after he hit a trash can. His face was covered in blood.

Pondok Aren Police Chief, Kompol Bambang Askar Sodiq said the incident occurred at the Deplu Housing, Jalan Caraka Raya, Pondok Aren, South Tangerang, Wednesday, May 8.

"That's right this morning a robber was arrested by residents. But currently the perpetrator was taken to the hospital because he had an accident while running away," Bambang told reporters at the Pondok Aren Police, Wednesday, May 8.

Bambang explained that the incident began when Siti was walking around the scene. Suddenly the perpetrator came on a motorbike, then snatched the victim's bag.

"After being withdrawn, the mother screamed and Alhamdulillah, there were residents who cared about the situation and immediately prevented the perpetrator who was trying to escape. Because of panic, the snatch carried the motorbike fast and hit the trash can," he said.

Residents then arrested the perpetrators. However, because Subianto was seriously injured, the people were then taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

"The perpetrator is still being treated in hospital and being treated, considering that there are severe bruises on the head as well. While he is still being treated, he has been treated directly at the interograsI," he concluded.
