Toddler Dies In A Water Channel In Matraman Turns Out To Be Missing When Left Behind By His Mother Cooks Chicken Noodles

JAKARTA Arlan, a toddler boy who was found dead in a water channel in Pisangan Baru, Matraman, East Jakarta, was reported to have been missing since Friday, May 3. The toddler, aged 1 year and 8 months, was finally found on Sunday, May 5 at around 10.30 WIB, in a state of death.

It is known that Arlan's toddler disappeared while his mother was cooking, preparing for chicken noodle merchandise. At that time, the Matraman area, East Jakarta was raining heavily.

Toddler Arlan was seen playing in front of his house when it rained, and walked loose. But his mother returned to focus on cooking for his merchandise that day.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Matraman Police, AKP Mochamad Zen explained, the victim was only able to walk and he walked alone.

"Initially the position of the victim in front of the house was playing again, I didn't know when his mother finished cooking, (the victim's mother said) 'where is my son?' Because it was raining, look everywhere and report to us too. I didn't know it was found in the sewer. When (the child) disappeared, when it rained yesterday, Friday, "said AKP Mochamad Zen when confirmed by VOI, Monday, May 6.

After 2 days later, on Sunday afternoon, the victim's body was found dead in a water channel with a distance of about 100 meters from the location of the victim's house.

"(When the incident happened, the victim was allegedly swept away by the flow of water in the drains) There were the victim's parents. The victim's parents were about to prepare to sell chicken noodles. They were cooking again. They were cooking at home," he said.

Currently, the police are still examining three eyewitnesses. According to the testimony of a number of witnesses, the victim was carried away because of the heavy rain on Friday, May 3.

"When the mother is looking for her child, when it rains heavily," he said.

Previously, it was reported that residents were shocked by the discovery of a toddler's body in a residential water channel on Jalan Gang Salim 1, RT 03/08, Pisangan Baru Village (Pisbar), Matraman District, East Jakarta, Sunday, May 5, afternoon.

The discovery of the toddler's body began when residents cleaned waterways in residential areas because there was an unpleasant aroma and a pungent smell.

"When cleaned, it turned out that there was a toddler's corpse squeezed by a small water channel. It had emitted an unpleasant odor," said Yusuf, a resident around the location.

Then the discovery of the toddler's body shocked the Pisangan Baru area.

Yusuf said that the toddler had been missing since 2 days ago.

For two days, the toddler was in search of his parents. However, for two days missing, the victim's parents could not find the whereabouts of the child. Until finally the toddler was found dead in a ditch.
