Becoming Yoga Orchid, Two French Citizens Arrested By Denpasar Immigration

JAKARTA - The Immigration Office of Denpasar, Bali, has studied the residence permit for two foreign nationals (WNA) from France who are yoga instructors in the Ubud tourist area, Gianyar Regency.

"We will continue to carry out efforts to monitor foreigners, for the sake of security," said Denpasar Immigration Chief Tedy Riyandi, ANTARA, Sunday, May 5.

The two foreigners from France, namely a woman with the initials MP and PM who were caught in an immigration surveillance operation entitled "Jagratara" at one of the villas in Pelataan Village, Ubud, Gianyar Regency.

The immigration intelligence and action team oversaw the two foreigners at the villa who provided yoga training to 10 participants. Based on search data on social media, the foreigner promoted the yoga coach's advertisement.

Considering that there were allegations of misuse of their residence permit, then further examination by Denpasar Immigration.

In addition to the location, in the operation the team also targeted other villas, including the Pelatian, Ubud and Singakerta areas.

However, during the operation the team did not find foreigners who misused residence permits.

Then, officers also targeted the Tirta tourism service in Renon, Denpasar, which employs foreigners, namely two people from the United States and targeted foreign brand fashion stores in Batubulan, Gianyar, who has three employees from South Korea.

At the two locations, the team found no indication of misuse of residence permits.

Meanwhile, during 2023, his party had deported as many as 75 foreign nationals, who were dominated by 29 foreigners from Russia, for various reasons, including abusing residence permits.

Apart from Russia, there are also those from Uzbekistan, the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

"During 2024 we will provide immigration administrative action to 20 foreigners," said Tedy.

Denpasar Immigration Office includes work areas including Denpasar City, Badung Regency in Abiansemal, Mengwi and Petang Districts, then Gianyar Regency, Klungkung Regency, Bangli Regency and Tabanan Regency.
