The joint search and rescue (SAR) team searched for a resident of Kota Baru Village, Kota Baru District, Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) who was reported missing due to being attacked by a crocodile. "The victim was a man named Yosten (33)," said Head of the Maumere Basarnas Office Supriyanto Ridwan, Sunday, May 5. He explained that the victim was attacked by a crocodile while fishing in the mouth of the Bale River on Friday, May 4, at 21.00 WITA. The fishing activity was carried out by the victim and two of his colleagues, but when the victim was attacked by a crocodile, the two fellow victims were at different fishing points in the Bale River. "When the two victims were fishing, they heard the sound of the victim's screams from the estuary, they rushed to the estuary and it was seen that the crocodile had pounced on the victim and took the victim to the bottom of the Bele River estuary," he said.

Furthermore, the victim's colleague who saw the incident immediately reported to the victim's family and then continued to the Maumere Basarnas Office to conduct a search effort. "After we received information, we immediately deployed a joint SAR Team from the Maumere Basarnas Office to the scene with a distance of 18 kilometers," he said. He explained that the joint SAR team was already at the location and carried out search operations by deploying main equipment (defense equipment) in the form of the Maumere Basarnas rubber boat and SAR Air equipment.
