Involved In Circulation Of 5 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine, 4 Suspects Are Threatened With The Death Penalty

West Jakarta Metro Police (Polrestro Jakbar) confiscated at least five kilograms (kg) of more than methamphetamine from four suspects who were arrested from March to April 2024.

West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol M Syahduddi told reporters, Friday, May 3, that the first two perpetrators with the initials RH and VM were arrested on Jalan Anggrek Rosliana, Kemanggisan Village, Palmerah, West Jakarta on March 30, 2024.

"In the arrest, evidence was confiscated in the form of 11 packages of methamphetamine weighing 2,040 grams," said Syahduddi.

Then, he continued, in the second case, two suspects with the initials IS and FD were arrested at Pasar Turi Station, Surabaya, East Jakarta on April 22, 2024.

"From the arrest, three large packages of methamphetamine were confiscated weighing 3,107 grams," said Syahduddi.

For their actions, the four suspects were charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 subsidiary Article 112 paragraph 2 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

"With a maximum imprisonment for life or the death penalty and a minimum fine of Rp. 800 million and a maximum of Rp. 8 billion," said Syahduddi.

Furthermore, Syahduddi revealed that all the arrests began with public reports related to narcotics transactions in West Jakarta.

"That's why we ask for public cooperation to report if we find transactions or narcotics abuse and at the same time to stay away from them," said Syahduddi.
