Doni Monardo Asked TNI/Polri Leaders To State-Owned Enterprises To Monitor Their Subordinates So That They Don't Travel Out Of Town

JAKARTA - Chairperson of the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 Doni Monardo asked the head of the state civil service agency (ASN) to monitor his subordinates so that they do not travel outside the city according to the ban issued by the government. The goal is to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

"We hope that the leaders of the main agencies, the National Army (TNI), the National Police (Polri), as well as the Ministry of Home Affairs and the ministry of the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), can really monitor their respective members and employees," Doni said in a press conference broadcasted on the National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB) YouTube account, Monday, March 8.

Meanwhile, for private employees, he said, the government cannot actually prohibit them.

It's just that, to prevent the movement of private employees in the middle of the holiday season, the government has had a dialogue with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) to help convey an appeal not to travel to company leaders.

"If this can be obeyed then we will be able to reduce daily cases, active cases and in the end, we can also reduce the death rate," he said.

Moreover, he mentioned that currently, Indonesia has made a lot of progress, especially after the implementation of restrictions on micro-community activities (PPKM) on the island of Java-Bali.

"After the implementation of PPKM Mikro, it has been very positive. The number of active cases has decreased, there are a lot of daily cases, drills in hospitals are also below 50 percent. This is a success and an undeniable fact," he said.

Previously reported, during the Lunar New Year holiday, the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPANRB) Tjahjo Kumolo issued a ban on traveling out of town for Civil State Apparatus (ASN).

This rule is applied based on Circular Number 04 of 2021 concerning Limitation of Travel Activities Outside the Region for ASN Employees During the 2572 Kongzili Lunar New Year Holiday during the COVID-19 Pandemic Period.
