JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian paid his attention to the security of voter data in the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.

This was conveyed by Tito at the Submission of the Election Voter Potential Population List (DP4) from the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs to the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia as Materials for the Preparation of the Voter List for the Election of Governors and Deputy Governors, Regents and Deputy Regents, as well as Mayors and Deputy Mayors of 2024.

There are several features that need protection, one of which is the security of personal data that has been regulated in Law (UU) Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection. The Minister of Home Affairs warned that there should be no legal risk of data leakage.

Therefore, the security system, especially for cyber security, is really guarded by various related parties, with the support of the KPU, the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), and the National Police.

On the other hand, he added, there are two criteria used in the preparation of DP4. First, citizens who have the right to vote based on the age of 17 on November 27.

Second, not members of the TNI/Polri, because they do not have the right to vote. Because DP4 is dynamic, his party asked the KPU to work together to verify, validate, and synchronize the latest data.

"Today we submit the DP4 list of potential voters for the Pilkada on November 27, 2024, and this data is taken from the Dukcapil data of the Ministry of Home Affairs and this is one of the responsibilities of the government to prepare potential voter data," he said.

For information, the DP4 Pilkada Simultaneously as of November 27, 2024 amounted to 207,110,768 people, with the number of men as many as 103,228,748 people and women as many as 103,882,020 people.
