JAKARTA - Anticipating Rising Global Oil Prices, Moeldoko Encourages People To Use Electric Vehicles The presence of electric vehicles can be one of the answers to various current geopolitical situations that have an impact on rising world oil prices and disrupting the distribution of goods flow

On the other hand, Moeldoko said that holding an electric vehicle exhibition is one of the educational efforts for the people of Indonesia. One of them is the activity of the Periclindo Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS) which can widen the reach of education and increase public understanding of electric vehicles.

"In terms of promotion, education, transactions, we hope that PEVS will be a liaison for all stakeholders for collaboration, as well as assisting the government in efforts to drive and develop the Indonesian electric vehicle industry," said Moeldoko at the 2024 Periclindo Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS) press conference in Jakarta, Monday, April 22. Furthermore, Moeldoko invited all elements of society to support the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia in their respective sectors. Moeldoko said that currently the government has revised the rules regarding battery-based electric vehicles, one of which is by pouring incentives to encourage the use of electric vehicles.

According to him, the presence of electric vehicles can be one of the answers to various current geopolitical situations that have an impact on rising world oil prices and disrupting the distribution of goods flow.

"In the midst of an increasing tension, the current geopolitical situation has a major impact on world oil prices, the development of this electric vehicle ecosystem can be one solution," said Moeldoko.

Moeldoko, who is also the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association (Periklindo), said that with various incentives from the government regarding electric vehicles currently, it is still not running optimally.

"The government has worked hard to prepare various well-organized policy rules, but not yet optimal. This can all be maximized if good citizens can take on roles according to their sectors," he continued.

Furthermore, Moeldoko said that one form is to raise people's attention to electric vehicles through the 2024 PEVS event. This event will feature various four-wheeled and two-wheeled electric vehicles that are innovative from various trademarks.

"With an event like this, people can understand that the growth (electric vehicle) is extraordinary," he said.

Therefore, Moeldoko hopes that the public will be sure that choosing electric vehicles is the right choice. "Hopefully people will not hesitate and really want to migrate to electric vehicles," he concluded.
