After Meeting Skateboarders, Anies: Enjoy Jakarta, Take Advantage Of All Its Facilities

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan reminded skateboarders to take advantage of the existing skatepark. The hope is that Jakarta can be useful to all its citizens.

"Enjoy Jakarta, take advantage of all its facilities, build feelings of friendship and brotherhood, God willing, Jakarta will be felt like a city for everyone," said Anies after meeting skateboarder Satria Vijie at the City Hall of DKI Jakarta, Thursday, March 4.

This meeting occurred because in recent days a viral video depicting the Civil Service Police (Satpol PP) bickering with a skateboarder on one of Jakarta's sidewalks.

Anies added, there are already many Skate Parks in Jakarta, so he hopes this will be used by skateboarders. "There is an opportunity for friends to interact to make positive activities, to meet friends from many places," he said.

Anies also reminded that every activity outside the home must comply with health protocols, including skateboarding.

"Go on skateboarding, but don't forget to wear a mask, keep your distance. God willing, that way, you can play healthy and well," he said.

Meanwhile, Satria Vijie was grateful for this meeting with Anies. He said that the quarrel between skateboarders and Satpol PP was considered over after this meeting.

He also wrote the results of the discussion from this meeting on his Instagram account, @satriavijie.

1. There is no prohibition on skateboarding on the sidewalks of Jakarta. * Please use the existing facilities wisely.

2. There are no rules for taking skateboards by officers. (Unless used for criminal acts)

3. Some skateparks such as Slipi and Casablanca Kuningan, as well as parks in Jakarta will try to be revitalized and built facilities for skating who will be assisted by the skateboards community.

4. Must prioritize pedestrians when skateboarding on the sidewalk.

5. Must comply with existing protocols.

- use a mask before and after exercise.

- keep your distance during training.

- not talking.

- Maintain attitude in public spaces, wear clothes so as not to disturb other pedestrians.

- maintain cleanliness after exercise.

- do not litter.

6. No CatCalling, be it teasing, whistling, comments, etc. to all pedestrians on the sidewalk.

7. To help maintain and make the city of Jakarta more advanced and better.
