Acting Governor Heru Budi Affirms Cheap Food Program Will Continue: This Is Not Social Assistance

Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono emphasized that the cheap basic food program would be continued even though it was mentioned in the 2024 presidential election dispute trial. This activity is certainly not part of social assistance (bansos) and will be carried out after Eid.

"The second or third day after the long Eid holiday, we will hold cheap basic necessities again. This is not social assistance," said Heru when reviewing the cheap basic food program at the Papanggo Village Head Office, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, Saturday, April 6.

The cheap basic food program at the village head office will be the last during Ramadan, said Heru. It was recorded that 1,500 basic food packages were provided by Perumda Dharma Jaya and Perumda Pasar Jaya.

There are also various basic necessities sold. Then there are additional commodities such as curly red chilies, cayenne pepper, and shallots.

"Today, before Eid, we have carried out cheap basic necessities since morning. This is the implementation on the last day before the community takes a long holiday," he said.

For information, the cheap basic necessities initiated by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government have been held since January 2024. This program has been held in several urban villages.

However, programs that provide rice, oil, sugar, and flour for Rp. 100,000 for the community are then questioned in a trial at the Constitutional Court (MK).
