Reasons For The Constitutional Court Not Presenting Jokowi At The 2024 Presidential Election Dispute Session

JAKARTA - Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat conveyed the reason the court did not present President Joko Widodo or Jokowi at the General Election Result Dispute (PHPU) trial, today. According to him, presenting the president is considered not good by the court. So, it was decided to only summon four ministers to testify. "Because the president is the head of state, the symbol of the state that we must uphold by all stakeholders, then, we summon his assistants, and his assistants are related to the petitioner's argument," he said. The decision does not present the president as an answer to the court's petition from the Ganjar-Mahfud camp. Where, in the argument of the petition, it is stated that there are allegations of cawe-cawe by President Jokowi to boost the electability of the presidential candidate pair and vice president Prabowo-Gibran. "Well, what mainly received very broad attention and was later argued by the petitioner was the head of state," said Arief.

The ministers were summoned for questioning by the Constitutional Court judge regarding the lawsuit filed by the Anies-Muhaimin camp and the Ganjar-Mahfud camp. Both of them sued the results of the 2024 presidential election to the Constitutional Court because they felt that there had been a lot of fraud.
