JAKARTA - The Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) could not help but laugh at the statement of one of the fact witnesses brought in by the Ganjar-Mahfud camp during the 2024 presidential election dispute trial.

Initially, Memed Alijaya, a resident of Cikaso Village, Pandeglang Regency, Banten, said that there was an irregularity between the sub-district head and the village head who called for a declaration to support Prabowo-Gibran in the presidential election with the residents.

In fact, the secretariat of the voting committee (PPS) called Memed also participated in declaring the victory to Prabowo-Gibran. Memed to the point of practicing the declaration style in the form of the chants.

"The one who leads the chants is the PPS secretariat. 'We, Iing volunteers are ready to win the Prabowo-Gibran one round'. 'Ready', everyone said so," said Memed at the Constitutional Court hearing, Tuesday, April 2.

The next day, Memed immediately reported the incident to the election supervisory committee (panwaslu) by bringing the documentation of the incident as evidence.

Memed said that the local Bawaslu had received and processed reports of alleged election violations. However, he admitted that he did not know how the settlement would be.

"So (who has been summoned) at Bawaslu there are 18 people. But to this day I have not heard, I do not know what kind of follow-up", said Memed.

Suhartoyo again asked Memed if he had given all the evidence he got to Ganjar-Mauhfud's legal team.

"Has it part of the evidence?" asked Suhartoyo.

With enthusiasm, Memed emphasized that he had provided evidence according to the facts. Memed then asked the panel of judges to trust him and not ask many further questions.

"So, I'm not making any sense, sir, because I was sworn in this morning. I'm an Muslim, I'm fasting. Don't ask a lot of heavy questions. Later, another, I'll explain that," replied Memed.

"Well, you are here to be asked," Suhartoyo asked surprised.

Memed then replied that he did not really understand anything other than what he knew. Suhartoyo also responded with laughter that could not be contained.

"That's it, that's enough. If that's the case, haha, that's it. I'm not asked again. I'll ask another question later," Suhartoyo concluded before continuing the question to another witness.
