Bandung City Is The Most, The Increase In DHF Cases Called The Ministry Of Health Has Not Reached The Maximum Point

JAKARTA - Director General of Disease Prevention and Control of the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes)Maxi Rein Rondonuwu assessed that the increase in Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) cases in recent times has not reached its maximum point and it is predicted that the increase in Dengue cases will continue.

"Our monitoring results continue to increase. But not to a maximum point. It seems that the potential for an increase will still occur, maybe until the next transition season," said Maxi as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 2.

He said that as of March 26, or the 13th week, Dengue cases in Indonesia were reported to have reached 53,131 people, with 404 people reportedly dying from the disease.

From the disease monitoring system, he continued, Bandung City was recorded with 1,741 cases of Dengue cases, followed by Kendari City with 1,195 cases, West Bandung 1,143 cases, Bogor City 939 cases, and Subang 909 cases.

For the distribution of deaths due to Dengue, Jepara recorded 17 deaths, followed by Subang with 15 deaths, Bandung Regency with 14 deaths, Kendal 13 deaths, and Bogor with 12 deaths.

Although Dengue cases have increased, said Maxi, the bed occupancy rate (BOR) of hospitals is still at a safe threshold.

"For the current condition, the BOR is still safe. There are still beds that are empty, ICU rooms are still available," he said.

Given the recent increase in Dengue cases, the Ministry of Health also asked the public not to panic too much. According to him, the most important thing is to maintain personal and environmental hygiene as an effort to control dengue cases so that they can immediately drop.

The Ministry of Health urges the public to carry out the 3M Plus Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN) activity periodically and thoroughly, especially during the rainy season like today.

"From now on, check cleanliness in the house and the surrounding environment. Do not let items that have the potential to cause puddles, if left later it can become a breeding ground for dengue mosquitoes. If you find it, you should immediately deplete it, dry it, or close it even if it needs to be recycled, "saidMaxi.
